More verified performance dataHow to read these figures
Hardness is reported as pencil gouge or scratch hardness (ASTM D3363); these are separate results. Coating stability is the maximum temperature for the coating, while colour stability is the temperature limit for colour change; manufacturers may report one without the other. Where Cerakote publishes a figure with a “+”, we show it the same way. Film thickness varies with spray technique and part geometry. Published ranges or test bands are shown where available; ≈ identifies a nominal target, not an exact applied thickness. Clear-coat figures describe that layer, not the total coating system. Abrasion results appear only when a tested coating has a published wear result. Results depend on substrate, preparation and cure.
Colours and finishes may differ in person. Screen previews are a guide only.
