Our Cerakote coating starts from £180 plus VAT per job. That minimum covers the preparation every job needs: degreasing, masking and plugging, blasting, spraying and curing, with inspection before it leaves. Above the minimum the price is driven by how much surface we coat, how many parts there are, how much masking the part needs and which finish you choose. The quickest way to an exact figure is our instant quote: upload a STEP file, a drawing or photos and the price is calculated from the part itself.
What drives the price
- Surface area and size. Coating time scales with the area we spray and the size of the part in the booth and oven. A bracket the size of your hand and a three-metre exhaust are different jobs.
- Quantity. Set-up, masking and colour matching are done once per batch, so the price per part falls as the batch grows. Production runs are priced per part, not per job.
- Masking and plugging. Every thread, bore, dowel hole and mating face that has to stay bare is plugged or taped by hand before blasting and stays protected through the cure. A part with forty tapped holes costs more to prepare than a smooth cover.
- Finish and series. Most H-Series colours are the same price. Clear coats, two-tone and masked graphics, metallic and colour-shift effects, and the air-cured C-Series exhaust coatings take more steps and are priced accordingly.
- Condition and stripping. New machined parts arrive ready to prepare. Used parts with old paint, powder coat, plating or corrosion need stripping first, which is quoted separately.
- Turnaround. Standard lead time is built into the price. If a deadline cannot move, tell us and we will say what is possible and whether it changes the cost.
Typical examples
These are illustrations of how the drivers combine, not a price list. Your instant quote is calculated from your actual part.
| Job | What affects it | Guide |
|---|---|---|
| One small machined bracket, H-Series colour | Minimum job, a few holes to plug | From £180 + VAT |
| Set of four exhaust tips, C-Series | Air-cured high-temperature coating, inside and out | Priced per set, above the minimum |
| Pair of wheels, two-tone | Large area, two colours, masked rim and spoke detail | Priced per pair; masking is the main cost |
| Batch of 50 identical CNC parts | One set-up, repeat masking from a jig | Priced per part, falling with quantity |
How the instant quote works
Upload a STEP file and we measure the surface area and features directly from the model, so the price is based on the real part rather than a guess from a photo. A drawing or a few photos work too; the quote is then based on the dimensions you give us and confirmed when the parts arrive. You choose the finish from the Colour Room, tell us the material and the quantity, and the price and lead time come back in the same screen. Online estimates are a guide until we have seen the parts; if anything changes, we tell you before any work starts.
What is included
Every price includes the full preparation: degreasing, masking and plugging of the features you tell us about, abrasive blasting, hand spraying, curing to the manufacturer's schedule, and inspection before packing. It does not include stripping old coatings (quoted separately), disassembly of bearings, seals or inserts (please send parts bare), or return carriage unless the quote says so.
Questions people ask
What is the minimum charge for Cerakote?
Our minimum is £180 plus VAT per job. It covers the preparation every part needs regardless of size.
Is it cheaper per part for a batch?
Yes. Set-up and masking are done once, so production batches are priced per part and the per-part price falls with quantity.
Does the colour change the price?
Most H-Series colours cost the same. Clear coats, two-tone and masked designs, metallic and colour-shift effects and the air-cured C-Series coatings cost more because they take more steps.
Can I get a price without a CAD file?
Yes. Upload a drawing or photos with the overall dimensions and we will price from those, then confirm when we see the part. A STEP file gives the most accurate instant price.
Do you charge for stripping old paint or powder coat?
Stripping is quoted separately because it depends on what is on the part. Tell us in the quote and we will include it.
